Flies and the danger it brings

When we think about flies, the first thing that comes to our mind is the word disease. Indeed, flies are the carriers of many dangerous diseases. Salmonella or staphylococcus or Escherichia coli are some of the dangerous pathogens that can carry. These pathogens can be the source of many diseases in humans and animals. Cholera, dysentery, and hepatitis are a common pathogen that is known to be caught on flies. To get rid of these pests, you can use chemicals of course, but a healthier approach is proper hygiene and sanitation. This is a much better option for controlling these pests. If you have a farm for example or you work on a farm, they will be present no matter what you do because they are attracted by animal feces. This is the fact, and there is nothing you can do even to make things a little better.

But if you are in a regular household and you realize that you have a fly infestation, then you should take care of the hygiene of your home and use some chemicals for pest control if improved hygiene doesn’t help.

Some characteristics

First of all, there are a lot of fly species in the planet. Their life is from 8 days to 2 months. Some flies are known to live for an entire year. They have two wings which mean they can fly of course, and the total number of species which is registered is about 16000 only in North America. This is fantastic. As you can see, flies are almost all over the earth. You can find them anywhere except in the polar region. They can’t survive on those temperatures and in that kind of environment. It is remarkable how one pair of flies could breed and produce over 1000000 flies and in just a couple of generations. This happens in a matter of weeks. You would be surprised how many organisms could be found in one single fly. Their gut is full of those devils, and you can imagine how many of those you can find on its body and even legs.

The problem with flies is that it can spread the disease very quickly because they usually land on a rotting or a place that is full of disease pathogens and then it quickly flies back to our food and other accessorizes. Flies have only one pair of wings; they can give away a great number of bacteria every time they land.

How to get rid of them?

Maintain a good hygiene of the house and your hygiene, and you will do just fine. If you realize however that there is an infestation going on, make sure to call exterminators or apply chemicals on your own.
